Evidence-based evaluation in P/CVE and De-radicalisation: Role, purpose, and value

Evaluation is indispensable if we want to identify what really works in P/CVE and to design evidence-based interventions. Evaluations enable you to assess the different levels of outcomes and impacts of your programme/initiatives.

This 8h-long training will teach you:
  • What is evidenced-based practice and evidence-based evaluation  ?
  • Why evaluations matter in P/CVE and De-Radicalisation ?
  • How to plan for risks, challenges & impact ?
  • Inclusiveness, gender sensitivity and P/CVE

Designing & Planning Evidence-Based PCVE / De-radicalisation Initiatives

In hard-to-measure areas such as P/CVE, having a good design and planning for your interventional logic allows you to identify, explore and test the underlying assumptions behind the work enhancing your chances at meaningful change and impact.

This 8h-long training will teach you:
  •  INDEED Evidence-based Evaluation Model (EBEM): main purpose and components
  •  From theory to practice: Designing an evidence-based evaluation applied to a case study
  •  Intervention approach & logical framework
  •  Theory of change and evaluation
  •  Setting a roadmap: baseline assessment & indicators

Implementation: Monitoring, Data collection and analysis

Think ahead on how you want to capture and measure the change, which data collection methods are appropriate to the context and the objective and ensure these will guard against cultural, conflict and gender insensitivity.

This 8h-long training will teach you:
  • How to design your strategy for monitoring and implementation ?
  • How to select the best methods & tools?
  • How to consider cultural and gendered interpretations ?
  • What is good practice in monitoring for PVE ?
  • P/CVE change significance

Adaptation: From Evaluation & To Learning

Evaluations enable you to assess the different levels of outcomes and impacts of your programme/initiative, and most importantly to adapt and learn from evidence.

This 8h-long training will teach you:
  • How to evaluate impact against anticipated PCVE results and outcomes achieved ?
  • How to engage with (in)effectiveness of your PCVE objectives ?
  • How to assess efficiency and sustainability of your objectives & results ?
  • How we learning from, communicate and absorb the results
